This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Chimera Securities, LLC (“Chimera” or “the Firm”) treats personal Information, including what information we collect, how it is used and/or shares, and how it is stored and protected. “Information” should be understood as personal identifying information collected and defined under US data privacy laws and personal data collected and defined under General Data Protection Regulation, (“GDPR”).

Chimera may collect information from you and about you. The information obtained assists the Firm in providing you with appropriate products and services, as well as satisfying regulatory requirements. Here are some examples of the Information we may collect: 

  • Contact Information: The Firm may collect your name, address, phone number and/or email. 

  • Employment Information: The Firm may collect your resume, employment history and/or  information provided by references. 

  • Social Media Information: The Firm may collect profile information and/or information posted to your social media accounts. 

  • Electronic Communications: The Firm is required to capture and review its business-related communications for regulatory purposes.   

  • Account Information: For accounts maintained at the Firm, we may collect your username,  password, and/or other account usage information.

Information may be collected in several ways. Below are examples of how we may collect your Information: 

  • From You Directly: The Firm may collect information directly from you, such as information you submit on account applications and other forms.  

  • From Associates: The Firm may collect information about you from your associates, such as a trader providing a recommendation on your behalf.  

  • From Third Parties: The Firm may collect information about you from third parties, such as information received from a vendor performing a background check.  

  • From Electronic tools: The Firm may collect information from and/or about you via electronic tools, such as correspondence logs.

  • With Regulators and/or Law Enforcement: The Firm may share your information with law enforcement and/or regulators, particularly as it is required by law or requested by a regulatory body.  

  • With Partners and Providers: The Firm may share your information with third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as our trade surveillance software provider. 

  • With Any Successors: Were the Firm to merge, by acquired, or sell all or some of the business to another entity, your information may be shared with such entity.  

  • Other: The Firm may share your information as otherwise permitted by law or as requested and/or direct by you.  

  

STORAGE & PROTECTION: 

Chimera maintains procedures and technology designed to prevent unauthorized access to stored private personal information. We restrict access to stored personal information to staff and service providers who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. Staff members who violate our Privacy Policy are subject to company and regulatory disciplinary action. We use reasonable means to safeguard personal Information under our control against loss, theft, unauthorized use, disclosure, or modification.
